Kelly grew up in a historic Chicago home filled with European antiques mixed with Post-War, Modern and Contemporary art. As a child she spent countless hours at The Art Institute of Chicago sketching the Thorne Miniature Rooms, which in hindsight clearly foreshadowed a future in interior design.
Kelly graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Art History from Barnard College, Columbia University. She then completed Columbia University’s New York/Paris: The Shape of Two Cities program through the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. She developed her technical skills at Pratt Institute, where she received an MFA in Interior Design.
Prior to completing her education, her professional journey included internships at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, The Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, Sotheby’s New York, and Holly Hunt Ltd.
Kelly worked with esteemed interior designer Eric Cohler in New York, where she had the opportunity to work on over 30 diverse projects from coast-to-coast. As a Senior Project Manager, she worked on both new construction projects and major renovations of historic residences. She also advised clients on building world-class art collections as a final stage of many design projects.
In early 2015, Kelly launched her namesake interior design firm. Her passion for design attracts clients nationwide, who appreciate her ability to create curated residences that exude personality and style. Clients enjoy working with Kelly, often praising her quick wit and chic personal style.
